Fodico Marine Group’s utility vessel Pacific Conquest has successfully completed another project for the Australian Government - retrieving and redeploying deep-sea monitoring equipment in the Coral Sea. The equipment cluster forms an essential component of the global tsunami warning network, and is located approximately 600nm North East of Gladstone, in 5000m of water. The Pacific Conquest’s high-clearance A-frame and project-specific rigging hardware allowed the sensitive equipment to be brought on board safely, despite testing weather conditions.

Maintenance Dredging

FMG were contracted by the operator of an island resort to remove accumulated sand and coral fines from the island’s harbour. The works were executed using our long reach excavator, an articulated dump truck, and bobcat. Silt curtains and strict operating protocols were utilised to protect the sensitive marine environment, with all works being performed under the direct supervision of marine parks representatives. The dredged material was reused on the island for beach replenishment. Pre-works, intermediate, and post-works surveys were produced by hydrographic surveyors to monitor progress.
