Tugs Chartered for LNG Construction

Tugs ‘HT Salute’ and ‘Alkira’ were placed on long-term charter to assist John Holland Group with the construction of three LNG loading facilities (APLNG, QCLNG, and GLNG) on Curtis Island. Daily duties included the relocation of construction barges (120’ to 210’), anchor movements, handling of supply barges (120’ to 180’), delivery of deck cargo, and tug assists for inbound shipping. From an initial period of 9 months, the charter period was eventually extended for more than 18 months, and at peak times involved the daily coordination of up to six tugs – all owned and operated by Fodico Marine Group.
